Agristo
The fries of international fast food, on your griddle.
From Belgium to your pub counter.
Agristo was founded in Belgium in 1986 as an industrial potato supplier. Forty years later it is one of the three certified suppliers to McDonald's Europe. The potato that reaches your counter comes from the same technology that feeds the largest fast food chain in the world.
Speedy Food opened the Salento HORECA channel in 2020 with a dedicated distribution agreement. Same product as retail and fast food, HORECA pricing, professional packaging, full technical sheet.
The advantage the operator does not communicate to the consumer is the margin. Fresh potato costs more in food cost (water, waste, peeling time, cooking loss). Agristo costs more per kilo but returns more per finished dish.
Three things that change the numbers on your fries station.
Belgian supplier to McDonald's
Production site in Wielsbeke since 1986. An industrial line extended to the premium HORECA channel. The same product as the big international fast food chain, with dedicated HORECA pricing.
+12% cooking yield
Par-fried twice, then frozen. Three minutes of final frying, crisp outside and soft inside. Cooking loss is clearly lower than with fresh potato: the 2,5 kg bag yields 2,2 kg cooked.
Crinkle cut + stick cut
Two main cuts in the catalogue: crinkle (the fast food classic) and the long 9x9 stick. Constant portion size, predictable food cost, no short fries going to waste.
How the agent presents it in the kitchen.
The agent arrives at your pub with the 2,5 kg crinkle sample. They fry a 150 g portion on the griddle, in your own paper bag. Three minutes of cooking, and the crunch holds eight to ten minutes at the table: the time it takes to drink a beer.
Then the food cost sheet comes out and the sums are done on your prices, not on ours. On one side what fresh potato costs you today counting water, waste, peeling time and cooking loss; on the other what a portion that arrives ready costs you. The number that comes out is yours, and you see straight away whether the switch is worth it.
